Why This Exists
Quietly Rad is about living faithfully in ordinary life—trusting that quiet obedience still carries weight. This blog exists for dads who are in the middle of it.
Not at the starting line. Not looking back with nostalgia. Just in the daily work of showing up—raising kids, staying married, working hard, and trying to live faithfully in ordinary moments.
Fatherhood doesn’t need more noise.
It needs truth, humility, and steady obedience.
Scripture often speaks of faithfulness in the unseen places—the quiet work of loving your family well, leading with patience, and choosing integrity when no one is watching. This blog is rooted in that belief.
See Matthew 6:1–6; Luke 16:10.
Quietly Rad is about the everyday moments that quietly carry the most weight: the long drives, the routines, the conversations at the kitchen counter, and the choices that shape a home over time.
The goal isn’t to impress.
It’s to be faithful.
Who I Am
My name is Charlie Rose. I’ve been married for 16 years, and my wife and I are raising three kids—ages 15, 12, and 4—in Naples, Florida.
I don’t write as an expert or a pastor. I write as a husband and father who believes Scripture has something to say about how we live, love, lead, and repair when we fall short.
Like most dads, I’m learning in real time—what it looks like to be present, to repent when needed, and to recommit to doing the small things well.
Where I’m Coming From
Before Florida, I grew up in Southern California, primarily in Huntington Beach. I attended Orange Coast Community College and later Cal State Long Beach, where I studied journalism, creative writing, and English education.
While my education was rooted in writing, most of my career landed in digital marketing. I’ve worked across industries that shaped how I think and communicate—real estate, skateboarding, action sports, and music. Those worlds taught me how to tell stories clearly, cut through noise, and say more with less.
Today, I own a marketing company called HeyNeighbor. My wife and I have also been faithful members of Faith Bible Church for over 15 years, where we’ve served across many areas of ministry. Our current focus is in children’s ministry—showing up consistently, helping where needed, and investing in the next generation of Christ followers.
Both my work and my faith shape how I think about responsibility, consistency, and doing good work without needing constant recognition.
What I Write About
Quietly Rad covers the practical, often overlooked areas of family life—organized into a few core categories:
- Fatherhood
Every day dad skills, habits, and responsibilities that rarely get applause but keep families moving. - Marriage
Showing up for your spouse, repairing when you miss it, and understanding that strong families are built on steady partnerships. - Faith
Santification practiced daily, not performed perfectly—faith shaped by Scripture and lived out in decisions, priorities, and posture at home. - Babies & Kids
The early years, changing seasons, and the small moments that carry more weight than you expect. - Teens
Parenting older kids with humility, patience, and the awareness that guidance changes as independence grows. - Gear & Stuff
Honest thoughts on kid gear, toys, and family essentials that are actually worth owning. - Seasons
Traditions, trips, milestones, and the rhythms that slowly form a family’s shared DNA.
Each category exists to be practical—not aspirational—and grounded in real life.
Who This Is For
Quietly Rad is for dads who:
- Care deeply about their families
- Appreciate practical advice over theory
- Prefer dry humor to performative positivity
- Believe that being steady counts as success
This isn’t a parenting manual. It’s practical dad advice, shared plainly, with occasional punchlines, for people doing the work day after day.
Why I Write This
I write because a lot of fatherhood happens behind the scenes—and still matters.
Because not everything meaningful needs a spotlight.
Because doing the right thing consistently is often invisible.
Because most dads don’t need motivation—they need perspective.
If that resonates, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Quietly Rad.
